Robert Brain – Private Trader, Educator and Nimble Short-Term Investor

Topic:  “All about ETFs in Australia today"

At the time of writing there are more than 370 ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) available for you to buy/sell on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) share market, offered by a number of ETF providers.  However, when you study some of these ETFs you will find that many are not very liquid.  This might not be an issue for some investors, but it is an issue for many investors and traders.

So, how do we find out which ones are tradeable / investable?  Which ones are safe to play with?  What sort of thematics do they follow?  Who are the major ETF providers in Australia?  Where can we go for more information?

In this session, Robert sets out to answer all of these questions about ETFs, and more.

About Robert Brain

Robert has been studying the many aspects of technical analysis since 2006, and he is convinced that the share market price charts summarise the underlying opinions and emotions of the real market participants, and that every price chart tells a story. He also believes that Price Action Context is very relevant, and that Nimble Short-Term Investing is the way to go.

A few years ago Robert decided to combine his then casual interest in the share market with his extensive experience as an educator to develop his web-based Share Market Toolbox business to help investors and traders to refine their own strategies, and learn about the strategies of others. Robert is a private trader and educator, and an ATAA Councillor in the Melbourne Chapter. He also runs the Australian BullCharts (charting software) User Group with monthly Melbourne meetings and online webinar sessions.

6.45 pm to 8.00 pm – GUEST SPEAKER (Speaker will be joining us remotely - Online)

Zac Zacharia – Founder and Director of Centra Wealth Group and former ATAA Director

Topic:  "Investing with the smart money using Relative Rotation Graphs”

RRG charts were developed by Julius De Kempenaer in the early 1990s to visualize the relative performance of stocks and other securities against a benchmark and each other.   This is an amazing tool to follow the rotation of smart money relative to your target return – and if used properly, allows you to quickly identify where to find the next trading or investment opportunity.

In this presentation, Zac will explain how RRG charts are drawn, how to read an RRG chart, and then show you how to use an RRG chart to identify where the smart money is investing.

About Zac Zacharia

Zac Zacharia is the Founder and Director of Centra Wealth Group as well as Quantara Asset Management - a unique boutique investment manager that uses quantitative techniques to manage client portfolios.   During his career, Zac has co-authored the popular investment book, Property vs Shares.
He has previously been a director of the ATAA in Australia and has personally been trading and investing using technical analysis as his primary tool since 1997, garnering experience and trading in virtually every type of tradeable security.
As a passionate educator with a goal of helping people become better investors, Zac has been sharing his knowledge with people since 2003.

Join us for dinner after the presentations, for general discussion and networking with other members.
