About John Bollinger
John Bollinger is internationally known as the developer of Bollinger Bands, which are utilised worldwide for analysing the financial markets. He is the founder and president of Bollinger Capital Management, a firm that provides money management and proprietary technical analysis research and tools for institutions and individuals.
His book, “Bollinger on Bollinger Bands”, has been translated into twelve languages and his website www.BollingerBands.com is the hub for everything related to Bollinger Bands. The site offers free and premium educational materials, as well as information about the Bollinger Band Tool Kit.
John Bollinger is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT). He is the recipient of multiple awards for his contributions to technical analysis, including:
- The Technical Securities Analysts Association of San Francisco Lifetime Award
- The 2005 Market Technicians Association Annual Award
- The IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award
Presenter: Darryl Nagel (B.A., LLB – University of Sydney)
Darryl started his trading journey in 1986, trading exchange-traded options on shares. He joined the ATAA in 1995, giving his first presentation on the topic of “The Psychology of Trading.” A text of this presentation can be found in the July 1996 ATAA Newsletter.
Since 2003, he has presented as a technical analyst throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Darryl holds RG146 ASIC qualifications, enabling him to provide financial advice on most financial instruments. He also appeared as a panellist on Sky Business Channel’s “Your Money Your Call.”
Professionally, Darryl worked as a lawyer in both private practice and as a corporate lawyer with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia for 30 years. He has also served on the ATAA National Board and as President of the Sydney Chapter. His past presentations can be accessed by ATAA members via the Resource Menu on the ATAA website.
Currently, he is conducting postgraduate research at Central Queensland University on emotion regulation and probability theory in trading, aiming to improve emotional control and decision-making among financial traders.
